Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a Director of Accounting Operations for a contract position lasting 3-6 months. This role is based onsite in Chandler, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and optimizing the accounting function within a fast-paced environment, overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements to support accurate and efficient financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the accounting operations team; manage GL, close calendar, AP/AR.
• Streamline and improve accounting processes and systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support internal/external audits.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Provide financial insights to leadership and support strategic initiatives.
• Communicate financial performance to stakeholders and maintain strong business partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting leadership, ideally in a public company or renewable energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven team leadership, analytical skills, and experience improving operations.
• Proficiency with financial systems; ERP experience (SAP, Oracle) a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
